Senegal friendly : We missed Mikel, Moses and Ikeme, Rohr rues

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has disclosed that the absence of the team’s three key players, Captain John Obi Mikel, Victor Moses and goalkeeper Carl Ikeme benefited the Teranga lions of Senegal in last Thursday’s friendly match at the Hive stadium in London.
The Franco-German coach rued the absence of the key players in his squad, stressing that their absence were prominently felt in the game.
Chelsea right wing back, Victor Moses, withdrew from the squad citing injury, Mikel and the other China-based players, Odion Ighalo and Brown Ideye were excused, while Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme, picked up an injury ahead of the game.
“We had three key and very important players missing in the game. Victor Moses and Mikel are not here and the other China based players too and Carl Ikeme is injured, ” Rohr lamented.
“The goalkeeper was arriving in the morning of the game, spent all night long in the plane coming from South Africa.
“The team had a very good cohesion after the goal, the goal was unlucky after a corner, but the reaction was very good. We have never lost a game, it is nice.” He noted.
